Once you look closely at these two figures you may notice that the black figure can be considered merely constructed by the negative space of the white figure hinting at a not so clear plural. The black figure grounded, still and stuck to the background is encouraged to move forward by the more active white figure. Each ornamented by different colored dots but same motive. The scene is surrounded by portions of canvas painted in matte black, as if navigating through emptiness and/or chaos.
